What if I need something special for one of my Guests? We know that sometimes your Guests make special requests to you that are a little off the beaten path, or at least not on our Menu. We know that for most of our Customers, asking us to go above and beyond the call of duty is not your favorite thing to do (we can hear it in your voice that you feel like you’re “putting us out”). However, because part of our job is to make you look like a “Heroine” we’re going to try our very best to make your Guests’ special requests happen. And instead of making you feel like we did you a huge favor (even if we really did!) we’ll simply try to make you feel like it was no big deal. And here’s one story that I think really underscores our commitment to you, our real Customer. One of our Customers, Liz at Sara Lee, called and wanted to order some food for a two-day training meeting. We were asked to provide Breakfast, Lunch and Snacks. Of course, that’s exactly what we do, so everything is just great. Then Liz asked us if we would use some of the products that Sara Lee makes so that the people attending the meeting would become more familiar with their own products. I told Liz that even though we couldn’t get many of the products that she wanted through our normal vendors that we’d just run over to the grocery store to get what she wanted. No big deal. For us, that is. Liz, on the other hand, really appreciated that effort on our part. If we had been focused on serving our own excellent food, instead of being focused on serving the needs of Liz, our real Customer, then she would have had to go to the store on her own to get the Sara Lee products she wanted. She would have been less-than-happy and so we would have been less-than-happy because next time she may not bother to call us or any other caterer, thinking that it’s just too much to ask. Instead, we simply said, “Yes!” Another way that we try to make it easy for you is setting up an “open account” with us. Call us naïve, but we simply trust you. Basically, all we need is your address and that should take, oh, about 30 seconds. No big credit application. No list of trade references from your CFO. Just your address (and a promise to pay J). And you can use any form of payment you like because we accept check, cash, American Express, MasterCard, Visa and Diners Club. And of course, you can use a different payment method for different occasions depending on your needs.
